About That Handle...

Did I say I had a really nice knife? I guess that'll teach me to open my yapper. That "nice" kukri broke right at the handle.

Guess I should have just gotten a Himalayan Imports Ang Khola.

Okay, now on to better news. While going through some old boxes, I found a box of files I was going to use to make knives. I'm clearly never going to get a round to it, and I'd hate these just going to a landfill. The first person to claim this pile can have them.

I'll put them in a flat rate box and ship them to whoever wants them.

That's a bad heat treat and should go back to the seller/maker.

Also, very kind of you to pass the files along! I was going to claim them, but I have to be honest with myself, I'm not going to be able to do anything with them in the next 4 to 6 months.. My wife and I are contemplating a move, and I'll be doing good to keep what I have! LOL!

In fact, put the kuk in the box, if you want to see if we can do something about that...might take a while, but it might be repairable...and, damn, man, I'm sorry. That sucks.

(ETA) Holy Cow! I just realized the entire handle snapped off! I had thought the scales had separated off. Well, feel free to toss the blade into the box, too. That's terrible.

That looks like the scariest point of possible failure, sure am glad you didn't have injuries to post!

Bad heat treatment made it brittle? What were you chopping with it?

Dang it shouldn't done that short of locking it blade in a vise and hitting the handle with a sledge hammer and even then I would have excepted it to Bend and not Snap.
