Well, the ungly winter is over and I made it to the range yesterday. Got to put some of my beginning reloads from late last year through the Springfield RO I purchased at the end of last year (the weather ran out on me before getting more than a few rounds through it). It seems like a long wait especially at my more mature age. I’m falling in love with that 1911. Starting to prep some reloads now to try 4.5 gn of WSF for my next trip. That’s a move up from 4.0 and 4.3 gn.

So, a hello to all and great to starting to be active since I’ve started thawing out.

Pat
P.S. Many thanks to Dudedog for exposing me to the Springfield and also trying WSF powder.

Your welcome.
happy to hear your getting some decent weather.

Glad your liking the Springfield. (and WSF)
I was afraid I might hear bad dog and see a newspaper and have to hide under the bed;)

1911s in 9mm are just sweet range guns.
My match/practice load is 4.4 - 4.5 WSF with the RMR 124 MPR @ 1.08.
Some lots get me where I want to be PF wise at 4.4 some want about another .05-.1gr.

Since California has the stupid approved handgun list and nothing new can go on and things are coming off all the time, I bought another "Loaded" 9mm 1911 like my first one so I have a spare:D (before it goes off list, since Springfield no longer makes them I didn't see them renewing it)

Dudedog,
Very good on your backup piece. Good move especially since we don’t know what maybe coming down the pike.

Good to hear from you.

BTW, I’ve been using 1.05 with the RMR MPR 124 gn. Maybe I should also try 1.08 COL. The 1.05 is primarily for the Glock 43.

I ended up using 1.08 because that is short enough for all my 9mms. (XD, Sig, Taraus, 1911s)
You might try 1.08 but unless it shot a lot better I would say it's probably not worth the hassle of having gun specific ammo if your Glock needs them to be 1.05
Some of mine like one thing better than the others but generally if I find something that shoots well in my 1911 it works well in the others.
Part of it comes down to could I shoot the difference between the loads on any given day.
In most of my tests were I varied OAL my pistols seemed happier with things loaded shorter. (within reason of course)

Good to hear from you as well!
