Id check out a cz 512 if you are looking for accuracy. Never shot one but I own CZs and they are great so id expect this one to be too

A nice little left hand bolt action can be built from the savage striker 502 action. More work than you may wish to go through. I used the striker action to build a very nice little left hand youth model .243 for my son when he was 9 y.o. it made a unique arm that was easily reversed later when he was bigger.

I have a Ruger 10/22 I picked up stock with a scope from a pawn shop on GunBroker... HiDesert Dog .920" barrel, 50mm scope, chopped and channeled the stock myself. Those morning doves, finches, woodpeckers, and everything else sitting on the power lines never knew what hit them :)

Blissfully ignorant of reality I guess. Enjoy. I guess it's easy to think you're always right when you ignore evidence to the contrary...

Hi guys, maybe I didn't word my original post correctly. By lefty/ ambi stocks what I meant was Not righty specific/ designed in a way that would make it noticeably more difficult to use as a lefty, such a righty thumbhole stock would do. It does not need to be lefty specific or designed to be a mirror image of itself making it perfectly equally easy to use as a lefty or right, but it would be nice.

Now please, let's stop this. I don't want to do this. The mods don't want this. I won't do this. You didn't read the OP's post correctly and whether you can shoot off handed has nothing to do with anything. I can probably outshoot you shooting left handed too BTW. I shoot just about as well that way as right handed. You want a flame war and I don't so I'm trying to show you the futility of what you're doing. I could mention that I'm currently working as a reporter for a very well known web site (4th largest on the net for sports). You really shouldn't make accusations about people on the net because you just never know who you're really talking to. I do know how to read friend. And yes I know I make grammatical mistakes on this board but a reporter writes to his audience. That's a very old axiom. But I did not misread the OP's statement.

Boring. How on earth can you possibly know you had the hardest English teacher in three states in high school? Shooting isn't everything.

Post #4 covered the popular options pretty well.

I've had a Remington 597 for 10yrs if not longer and it has been great. For quite a bit under $200 it has been extremely reliable and shoots great. They are every bit the equal of a 10/22 when comparing stock guns (if not more accurate) and the 597s also gain quite a bit from free floating the bbl, bedding, etc.

My biggest complaint is the trigger and is definitely not what I would describe a "nice trigger" like you asked for. I've heard the VQ parts make a big difference but I haven't installed them on mine yet. The stock trigger is crisp but very heavy but that would describe most of the budget rimfires. Rimfirecentral will have all the info you need and more.

I can probably outshoot you shooting left handed too BTW.

lol

one 3 shot group that you are calling 5, and an internet rimfire funshoot is what makes you an expert..

lol.

Being able to shoot does not make you an expert on guns; it merely means that you are a good shot. I know plenty of people who are technically very competent in a skill and know precious little about their tools. Apparently you wasted (not spent because you clearly don't get as much as you think you do) all your time studying English and failed to look into logic.

You also didn't read what the OP wanted in the original post and placed your own constraints on what HE wanted. Based on his response above, guess what? You missed his plain English by reading certain things into what he requested that were neither stated nor implied. In your arrogance you assumed that you knew more about what he wanted and needed than he did. Are you perchance in public office?

I'm the son of an English teacher. Don't think that you have a corner on the mastery of the language.

Demos- Save one person, we knew exactly what you wanted.

Years ago, Mossberg (60's and 70's) had a little deflector shield that you could mount which would deflect the empties downward rather than straight out. They weren't bad semi-auto 22 rifles. I grew up with one. Love the thing and shot the snot out of it for years until springs, firing pins, and pins started breaking. I got tired fixing it, but at least at that time Mossberg would send you the parts to repair the rifle.

I got a 10/22 for my oldest son when he was 8. Since the stock was too long, we cut the stock off with a chop saw and he shot it that way for a few years. When it came time for a longer stock, I found a deal for a Hogue stock and a Clark 16" heavy barrel. After mounting that on the gun, it shot so much better than the original barrel I could not believe it. You can shoot a 10 shot group at 50 yards with cheap Federal American Eagle hollow points and cover it with a quarter. He shot thousands of ground squirrels with it.
