acme vs blue bullets

the reason that I asked, JO JO, is that someone else has or has a thread on one of the other forums and was having trouble with the the COAl variation and the weight variation of the coated Blue bullet in 9mm. Weight varied about 10 grs IIRC, and his COAL variation was about .010, which could have been ogive variation causing the COAL variation and bullet or coating causing the weight variation. I lost track of it so I can't direct you to it.

And as far as Acme Bullets are concerned, they are the ammunition supplier to Wiley E. Coyote, and he hasn't been able to plug the RoadRunner in all his years of trying.
Seriously, as far as Blue Bullets are concerned I would buy a sample pack of both the coated and non coated and do some weighing and measuring.

Never used Blue Bullets, but have been happy with all the bullets I have gotten from Acme and Missouri Bullet Company.
Haven't shot many coated bullets lately though since I have been getting Jacketed bullets from RMR for just a bit more..

I've been using Blue's exclusively for 9 and 45acp for several years now without an issue. I can't say that I've seen more than a 1-2 gr variance in that time. Overall they seem to be slightly heaver than advertised. Haven't used Acme so can't speak to them.

I am so happy with the reloading ease and accuracy of Blue Bullets 9mm and 45 ACP round nose (thousands of rounds with TiteGroup) that I have had no reason to try Acme.

If choosing from just those two sources I would go with Acme hands down. Never had much luck with blue bullets in 9mm, acme has been much more accurate and no blue smurf fingers while loading or handling.

I have had good luck with blue bullets 200gr SWC, but I don't shoot much 45 anyway.

I seem to have better luck with the blue,,,,
Kinda glad to see the rest of my Acme's get loaded/gone,,,
Heck if I know,,,,,,,,

I have never tried Acme or Blue bullets but have heard generally good stuff about Acme. I shoot .45 auto & lead only due to reloading my own ammo. And generally only the H&G # 130 which are getting hard to get. Dardas Bullets were great but Matt Dardas retired and shut down about 3 months back. Mastercasst.com were very good bullets but are gone also. I have shot Oregon Trail 180/185 but they have become very pricey even in large quantities. Zero & magnus are exceptional bullet makers/casters. I have heard that Summers Enterprises are exceptional good bullets for their price. Penn bullets are also good.

I have shot both and saw little difference. I normally stick with acme because they offer 148 dewc and 158 lswc as well as 9mm bullets so it's one stop shopping.

I have used both Acme and The Blue Bullets, as well as SNS Casting coated bullets. I like the two hundred grain SWCs without a lube groove.

I have found them all to be very consistent in wieght and diameter. I like the Acme best as of late. Their coating matches the red grips on my nineteen eleven best and they are not quite as slick as the SNS, which means I dropped them less.
Acme also seemed to have less "lipstick chunks" in the bottom of the bag (in the box).

The Blue Bullets coating was a bit chunkier, but shot just as well. They do leave quite a bit of "Smurf dust" around. I personally like the opaque blue color, or "Safety Blue Ammunition". Additionally the odor is a bit more phenolic smelling than the others while firing. (I can also detect insulin very acutely, some humans can't, I guess:confused:.)

If it seems I chose rather arbitrarily, I did! They are all very good!:D

I will try Bayou Bullets or Eggleston next for nothing more than their variety of colors.
Collated, color-coded cartridges cross checked with a calendar of charging conditions! Coined, cleaned and cutely curtailed in the cartridge carrying case. Of course coordinating with clothing chosen to complete the caper!:)

Hmmm... Power Pistol and periwinkle pistol projectiles placed perfectly on paper...:p

Wiley E shouldn't have been using bullets in the first place.
Everybody knows shotguns work best for Birds.
1 3/8 of #6 or 7.5, 25gr or so of Longshot and he would have had dinner.
On reflection THE RoadRunner was a pretty tough customer, maybe go to #4s or 5s:D

Wiley E and Elmer Fudd must have been pretty poor reloaders as they were ALWAYS blowing up their guns!:D

As far as cast bullets either my own or Missouri Bullet, never bothered with any others.

MBC is another great company. I guess I've lost track of how many round I've put through my Fourty-five. :D

Now, as far as Elmer goes, I heard he'd been trying duplex loads. I mean, have you seen how many times he fires a double barrel? That he still has fingers amazes me...:what:
