It seems that Catholic nuns are fighting against the second amendment. They argue "the leaders are exposing the company to liability by the way they have made and sold the rifle, which has been used in several mass shootings in recent years." It appears that rather than use a public safety argument, they are taking a financial tactic.

We know this doesn't carry weight, and they know it, but they want this to act as kindling- unpredictable which sparks starts the flame: “It will get a great deal of publicity initially and if they get an activist judge it may survive summary judgment,” said Kavan. “But with most judges I can’t see how it will survive. It’s just too speculative.”

I find this concerning because the catholic church is a powerful political entity and the last thing we need is more opponents in the fight for RKBA.

Probably the same nuns who own one share of altria stock (MO) a company that makes cigarettes and goes to the share holder meeting and complain about the product causing cancer.

This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment as there’s no government involvement; consequently, no one is ‘fighting against’ the Second Amendment.

‘“But with most judges I can’t see how it will survive. It’s just too speculative.”’ ibid

Rendering this a non-issue.

I am also sure Smith & Wesson was making AR15 style rifles long before they purchased the stock (unless some estate left the stock to the church).
Any judge worth their salt would throw this suit out. Totally frivolous.
