A couple of months ago, my friend and his parents confronted me about gun ownership and why they think that it should be banned. In a debate that must have lasted upwards of two hours, I sat down and heard all of her reasoning why people shouldn't have firearms. I sat down and pulled up reputable information on the Internet in front of them that seemed to dispel some of their false beliefs that all people with guns are bad. At the time, they had no idea that I owned a firearm, only that I was a RKBA supporter. I walked them through the actual process they would have to go through in buying a firearm and everything. At the end of the conversation I felt that they had no more supported the RKBA than before ... something that I'm used to, so I payed it no attention.
Well a couple of days ago, I went over to my friends house to visit. When I got there, Him, his mom, his dad, and his little sister (25yo) were there as well. Apparently after hearing what I had to say about everything, along with showing them crime statistics for the area that they lived in (what they have always seen as a safe community) all four of them went out and not only looked into the topic much further, but actually purchased a firearm for each family member, but went out and got CWHL's and are taking bi-weekly classes from an NRA instructor I referred them to in Personal Protection in the Home, and Home Firearms Safety.
They still claim to be pro-gun control :banghead:, but I think we will just leave it at baby steps.
