Hi, my name is Brett, and I am an addict. I have a tendancy to spend way to much money on Italian motorcycles and weapons of any sort. Now, I find myself checking out THR as often as possible while I should be doing other things. Just wanted to say thanks.
I tend to go through guns like I just can't wait to get to the next one. My wife, GREAT woman, keeps insisting that I spend some money to feed and clothe our two daughters, but just rolls her eyes when I show her my new toys. My dad is the kind of guy who finds one gun and is happy with it :rolleyes: , and thinks my brief affairs with my pistols or rifles of the moment are a waste of money and bullets. Unfortunatly, he also possesses an FFL and has refused to let me buy anymore guns through him :cuss: . So close, yet so far.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and make a mention that this is an absolutley great forum with so many topics discussed that my work days will never be the same.

Welcome to the board....I, too, have an addiction to firearms and Italian motorcycles....but also add to the mix guitars and basses. Unlike you, I have kept every firearm I've ever bought, except for one. Can't say the same about my guitars and motorcycles, though. I'm sure you will have a great time at THR, but take heed.....you'll want to go buy at LEAST one more gun in the next week, just from reading these posts. ;)

BTW, I've got a 2002 Ducati 748 monoposto, 1998 Ducati ST2, and a 1992 Husqvarna WXC-360.....to go with my 1985 Harley FXEF :D

Brett, my name is Teddy. I too am an addict. I have an addiction to firearms and Italian women. I'm a newbie to motorcycles. I'm getting ready to purchase a Yamaha V-Star 650cc. I like cruisers. Regarding firearms, over the past 7 months, I've purchased the following:

Walther P99 (9mm);
CZ 97 (.45 cal.);
S&W 686 (.357 mag.);
Ruger Redhawk (.44 cal.);
Firestorm mini (.40 cal);
Glock 20 (10mm); <yeah baby>
S&W 4516 (.45 cal.);
Escort 12 Gauge shotgun.

My brethren, is there any help for this addiction?

Thanks for the welcome! The only hope for people like us, I believe, is to spend time with more people like us... that way we can convince ourselves that it is everyone else with problems.

Kramer, I have a '99 Ducati 748 bi-posto; '04 999 and a 1974 Ducati RT450 that I run in AHRMA classes around here. The 748 is for the track and 999 is my "blitz around" ride.

I wish I could afford your tastes in motorcycles. I just have the little Suzuki GS500E, but the gun collection seems ever-expanding. 3 revolvers, 6 self loading pistols, 2 shotguns, and 6 rifles. Man, had to think about that for a while.

Hi Brett,

You have come to the wrong place if you want help kicking your addiction.

Actually I believe that we should remove the word "TOY" from our vocabularies. We should replace it with the word "TOOL". It is much easier to justify a new tool.

Welcome to The High Road.

Hello Brett

My name is Gerald, I work down town so close to the capital building I can see the windows my state rep sits behind when he is hiding from the rest of the legislators and public. I want something in here much closer to AK or Vermont style recognition of the 2nd. So I will spend a few minutes every week while they are in session to lobby for small points of interest in state law that does not require so much restriction. Activism.
Also I picked up a rifle tonight I paid for yesterday. The f_e_d_s delayed my pick up. Soon as swmbo finds out I will be homeless for a few days or weeks. I will then have to take refuge with someone else with this problem. As long as they have room in the safe.
Guess I can adjust my sig now.

My name is Wayne, and I am also an addict. Welcome to the club. :D

Last year I wasn't supposed to buy any guns. My wife an I had an agreement. Honest, I tried. I finished the year with 7 more guns than I started with.

A true addict has thier favorite gun store / FFL on speed dial. :D

I agree with enablement facility :D

This is an awesome forum, I love it.

Happy shooting!

I think the t-shirt that describes us best is as follows:

"You all laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same."

Welcome to The High Road. The only problem you'll find here is that the world outside of our humble abode here is that they're TOO normal! :uhoh:
