Anybody ever added a motor/pulley system to a Lyman Universal case trimmer? I'm trimming 30-30, 223, 308 and 30.06 brass and my hands are throbbing. Arthritis hurts big time. I can only do about 50 at a time til I have to stop and let my hands rest. Even upping my meds isn't helping.

Help!

I don't have the Lyman so i'm not sure how you could attach a pulley but for the motor you might want to look at an old sewing machine. I've used these motors in the past wrapping fishing rods. With the foot petal you keep both hands free. Of course when your done you will have to post pics.

GS, Mine has the adapter that chucks right into a drill. I've had very good luck with it. Mainly with lower RPM cordless drill/drivers, but I have a very nice Ryobi that's easy to keep in the lower RPM range. Finding a rest to hold the drill at the proper height was the biggest, though not much of a problem. A wood block cut to proper height to rest the drill on.;)

Thank you, thank you!

You guys are good. Thanks for the link and your help in this. Battery operated drills I got in spades. I can build a holding block for it with no trouble. I used to fix houses for a living so I can build darn near anything if I can get my hands to work.

Thanks again,

Grandpa

Got a surprise in the mail today. The power adapter I ordered thanks to you good folks came in along with the Lyman Universal Case Length Gauge. I just sat down and checked, shaped case mouths, and trimmed 200+ 30.06 cases in 1/2 hour and my hands can still hit the keyboard.

Thanks again folks!
