I was looking at some adjustable peep sights for my Henry. I have it set for high velocity 22 as it is, but the huge variety this thing will run asks for a fully adjustable sight system imho. I’d rather not scope it and a peep sight means it will match my 336 particularly if I use the Williams FP AG sight. That’s what I’m kinda leaning toward as that would basically clone my 336 for cheaper practice purposes. With my 336 set mostly for cast bullets the trajectory won’t be terribly different either.

My setup was for a H004 Golden Boy , not the H001 but I much prefer the reciever mounted peep sight over the regular irons. Way better accuracy.

I think the model I used was Williams FP 336. Some modification to the sight was needed to get it centered. There was drilling and tapping involved and the reciever cover had to be removed to do that. It was a little work but it was worth it. I have miles of elevation for distance and different velocity ammo. Just giving you options here. Not saying mine is what's right for you but it works for me.
Happy shooting friend!

I think they’re basically the same sight but the FP AG mounts to a rimfire dovetail rail.

Okay. I know what your speaking of. I have that on my Winchester 9422. They work fairly well also. I did have to change my front sight on the Winchester. It printed high with the factory sight.
I used a fiberoptic red tube font from williams for it. I had one left over from a kit with an FP sight. I like it but I might choose a Skinner white line blade instead if I were to change it again. You can file those down to the proper height. Pretty handy.

I have a 22-magnum height front barrel band from Henry. The original factory sight was too short to zero with the factory rear sight, so I called, and they sent one to file down to match. I couldn't get any lower than 4" high at 50 yards with the original front band/sight. I'm not sure what's more fun, shooting the rifle or all the weird looks I get while I "adjust" my front sight blade and sweep up the trimmings. Eyes really open when I break out the punch and hammer for windage.

If I had my perfect choice, I'd like a slightly smaller peep on the FP sights I have on my 336, and likely the same on the FP AG sights. It works fine as it is, but it might be better with a slightly smaller aperture. Then again, I might be setting myself up for failure with a dimmer sight picture. A part of me wants to mortar cast loads and 22 rounds into a target from 200 yards (max at my local range).
