I've been wanting to get a .22 conversion for my 1911 for a couple of months. I've done the research and asked around and I've narrowed it down between the Advantage Arms and Marvel .22 Coversions.
I mainly want to use this for plinking and "function practice" and not for any real "target" shooting, but any extra accuracy that I get would be a bonus. I do like the fact that the Advantage Arms model locks back on the last shot, but I'm not thrilled that they recommend changing the hammer spring. No modifications are recommended for the Marvel Unit 2 conversion.
Per AA:
I just got an e-mail from Advantage and they said that their lead time is only a couple of weeks right now. Marvel's units usually ship in about a week.
I am considering either the Advantage Standard or Marvel Unit 2 (obviously). The price difference between the two is $50 with the Marvel unit being more expensive.
Which kit would y'all recommend?

Our newest 1911 kits work pretty good with the factory 23 pound spring. Using an 18 pound spring with 45 rounds does not affect the gun. Most serious shooters switch over to the 18 pound spring in their 45's.
