I had a PM-11 and was pretty happy with it as a fun toy. Low price and light, short trigger were a plus. I sold it to get another pistol because at the time you couldn't put a front grip on it.

I was thinking about getting a CM-11 carbine as another cheap plinker when the AWB dies. I'd like to put a m4 stye collapsible stock on it.

I'd like some advice from anyone who's owned one.

First, is the barrel longer than 16"? It looks really long, and I was thinking that as part of the barrel is recessed into the receiver they were forced to make the barrel extra long to comply with the 26" overall length rule when the stock is removed.

Second, has anyone permanently attached the stock and reduced the barrel to a true 16" breech to muzzle?

Third, I'd read that 9mm actually slows down in a 16" barrel? Does anyone know what the optimum barrel length is for a 9mm carbine? Has anyone cut down a 9mm barrel and permanently attached a flash hider or muzzle brake to meet the 16" requirement? The autowerkes guys sell a 10" target barrel, is that optimum?

I was thinking of adding these features and making a nifty, reasonably cheap "custom" 9mm carbine.
