The above was just detected in Sweden for the first time, it kills every pig and wild boar it comes in contact with, no effect on humans at this point.
There was an outbreak in June in Eastern Europe that caused 1000’s of domestic pigs to be euthanized to prevent spreading.
Swedish authorities have said people in the area where dead wild boars were found with the disease were prohibited from entering the forests, including timber workers, as the disease can be spread on shoes, tools, etc. They don’t know how it got to Sweden, let me put on my tin hat and postulate that Russia, ticked off by Sweden trying to join NATO, introduced it.
Let’s hope it doesn’t make its way here, other countries have immediately stopped importation of Swedish pork, and no doubt their hunting industry is being affected.
