How have your experiences been with Glock magazines that are not NOT oem mags?

I'm talking:

Magpul Glock mags
ETS mags
Jaggeman mags
KCI mags
Promag
Amend 2

Etc

I want to know if any of them are worth buying. Would any of you trust any of them with your life?

I’ve been using Magpul Glock magazines for years and these have always worked great for me. I have carried these with my Glock 17 and 19.

I only carry and trust Glock magazines. Glocks are designed to reliably run steel case crap ammo and the factory magazine is some of the reason they can.

I'm not a Glock guy, so take this for what it's worth, but Glock mags are so readily available, inexpensive, and good, I can't see any reason to buy anything else.

What he said. And I'm a Glock guy.

What they both said. I have somewhere around 50 of them and they've been 100%. On sale they can be had for $15-$20.

Edit: I know someone who has a few Magpul for his Glock and he says they're good to go, and they'd be my second choice after oem.

I agree with the posters above. Glock OEM Mags only if you're planning to carry it or rely on it for home defense. Magpul makes some mags that are decent for the range, but often still not 100% reliable.

The Glock mags can often be had in the $20 range, so I'm just not sure why you'd go with anything else.

In a word, no. I don't own any Glock hand guns but I have 6 PCC's that all use Glock mags. I have tried ETS, and a few mags that were of Koren make. They did not say KCI on them, had a couple other names so not sure who made them. The one thing they all had in common was none of them worked 100% in any of the guns. Put OEM mags in and all 6 guns never miss a beat. So I ended up giving away the others. Now I do read of many who say they use after market and say they work great so it seems to be hit and miss. I would love to have one at least, of the drum mags. Only reason I don't buy one is leery of paying that much for one that may not work. So I ended up with a pile of OEM mags. When there is not a panic going on they end up on sale a lot. The way they are made they never seem to wear out.

KCI and Magpul are good.

I've been using the same lot of around 20 17 round KCI mags as practice mags, every week, for a little over 10 years now, and would trust them enough to use them for carry. They work fine, and are half the cost of factory mags.

I did have trouble with their 33 round mags though and dont recommend them. I've also had troubles with the factory 33 rounders, and haven't been happy with them either.

I have a number of Magpul mags as well, and they seem to work as well as the KCI's. Their 27 round mags work flawlessly too, as do the 21 and 17 round mags.

Years ago I got some of the G19 KCI mags because they were, like, $4-$5/ea. For that price I just had to give them a go.

So far, they seem OK/reliable as range mags, but I would never use them for carry mags.

I will only carry my Glocks with Glock mags, all of which I have purchased for less than $20/ea. :)

One other brand that also is made in Korea is RWB. I came across them earlier this year. I forget who was selling them, I think it might have been Classic Firearms.

They were selling "Korean" 19 mags for $5, which these days, is a great deal, even for the Korean mags. I wasnt aware that there were any other than KCI/Kahn, so I bought a bunch.

They work fine in the gun, but, like the early factory mags, dont drop free when empty. Fine for practice, you just have to pull them out.

I do also have KCI 19 mags, and they work like the 17 mags I have. Id trust them too beyond just practice.

Glock mags are about as cheap as they go for factory mags, especially when compared to things like SIG, Beretta, and a lot of others.

Still, if you shoot a lot when you go, its nice to be able to load a bunch of mags beforehand, and not have to stop and have to load more at the range.

I have an ongoing test with a set of Magpul mags. 1, G17 type and 1 G19 type. I loaded them up and left them loaded, I fire them off at the range and then reload them and store them in my range bag. I fire them through my G19 and a PC Carbine. Never had a malfunction with them yet. Springs have stayed strong and the mags seem to be good to go. This has been going on almost three years now.

I've had solid luck with the Magpul G26/G19/G17 magazines - no issues at all and lots of range time to find them if they existed. Having said that, I find that I prefer the OEM magazine (with Vickers baseplate) for purely subjective reasons.

In the end, the Magpuls are half the cost of OEM, so if a body wanted to lay in a supply and maximize the number of solid functional magazines for the dollar spent - the Magpuls would NOT be a bad way to go.

I have two aftermarket brands in my Glock magazine rotation. One is an extended ETS mag for the G43. It's an invaluable training tool for when I want to practice clearing double feed malfunctions without having to manually induce them. The other two are Shield S15 mags for my G48/43x. No problems in 500 rounds.

My Glock mags feed my Ruger PCC and my PSA AR 9 pistol.

ETM mags are good to go!! That's what shipped with my PSA. Magpul are good also. KCI, they work like a champ.

I can get a 40 round ETM for half the cost of a Glock 33.

Glock only for me. I absolutely love the OEM 24 rounders. Significantly shorter than 33 rounders, enough to carry just 1 as a reload.
