I know this question has many posts on the web, but I could not find any from this forum. I trust THR a lot, so I will ask:

I'm looking for an affordable threaded barrel to put into my G19. Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just has to be reliable.

At some point I might want to add a suppressor (if I ever decide to get one), so that's why I am looking for a threaded barrel.

Anyone have any direct experience with this brand? Thread protector is an extra $9, so this puts me at $59.

I was going to go with Lone Wolf, currently selling for $100, but these are cheaper, and from what I have read, just as good. But I would like to hear from THR.

Thanks

I only have experience with one barrel from Aim and I wasn't impressed. I bought a G23 9mm conversion barrel and never could get it to work properly.

I use KKM, Lone Wolf, Tactical Kinetics (Brownells) and BCA 40-9mm conversion and 40S&W barrels.

They have all been drop-in and worked reliably with my various weight reloads (100-147 gr).

BTW, BCA has threaded G19 barrel (Black Nitride/416R SS) for $73 - https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/gu...lock-19-barrels.html?product_list_order=price

Accuracy wise KKM has been the best, especially with plated/lead/coated lead bullets (Likely due to slower 1:24 twist rate) followed by Lone Wolf/BCA (Which use 1:16 twist rate typical of most match grade barrels) and Tactical Kinetics (Likely due to faster 1:10 twist rate). If you are shooting jacketed bullets, you likely won't see difference in accuracy between various barrel twist rates.

If you reload, KKM will have the longest leade length to better accommodate 9mm Major rounds loaded longer, followed by BCA. Lone Wolf and Tactical Kinetics have shorter leade and requires shorter OAL of rounds (You can send samples of dummy rounds and Lone Wolf will ream the rifling to work with your rounds). This reference thread shows close up pictures of various barrels and leade/start of rifling with max/working OAL for various brand/types of bullets - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...let-max-working-oal-col-for-reference.848462/

I must have gotten a lemon. I have an AIM 9mm barrel for my G22...it's been 100% reliable with everything I've fed it and more accurate than the factory .40 barrel. 🤷‍♂️

Factory Glock 22 barrel is pretty accurate - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/rmr-180gr-fmj-rnfp.847523/#post-11050244

And not too many factory barrels are capable of sub 2" groups at 25 yards - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/first-9mm-loads-using-titegroup.875922/#post-11660662

The 9mm Aim Surplus threaded Sig P320C 416 stainless DLC coated with loaded chamber cut cost me $50 has 1-10" rifling . That pitch works very well for 147 grain ammo and heavy 9mm subsonic bullets in the 150 grain range BTW , It came from Herrington Arms . It works fine and I bought it for suppressor only use and I use the stock barrel for carry and load development. It was indeed my "bargain of the year " and I discovered the good folks at Herrington Arms !

OK, cool.

I should have clarified...the AIM barrel in my gun was more accurate than the stock .40 barrel in my gun...yours and the OPs experience may vary.

Or maybe it was just the reduced recoil of the 9mm compared to the .40 resulted in me shooting better groups? (I didn't measure the groups...I just visually confirmed that the 9mm groups were smaller than the .40).

Just relating my personal experience.
