A search gave me no good suggestions... but I'll bet there is a thread on it.

I have a flattop Bushie with an Aimpoint on it, but due to a few issues it's not great for duty work. I decided to use my DPMS as my duty rifle and it's got a fixed carrying handle (A1 style).

Since the sights are fixed, I need to mount the Aimpoint in a way so I can still use the sights if the Aimpoint goes belly-up. I was using a GG&G Aimpoint Cantilever Ring on the Bushie. I've seen Aimpoints mounted on the carrying handle and don't really like the set-up. So I'm thinking I can mount it forward on the handguard.

Anyone have any idea what mounting arrangement works well or have any of you found it has too many drawbacks and suggest I stick with the iron sights?

Any help w/b much appreciated.

Either a BCM gooseneck mount or put a free float railed handguard on the rifle and mount it to that. I have a A2 with a MI free float HG with a EOTECH 552 and Larue riser. Works great, holds zero just fine. If you want to go carry handle suggest you look at a ACOG.
