In December I bought an Airforce TalonP with a moderator in .25 cal to deal with late night chicken killing intruders in a quieter manner than the 9mm I was previously using. I mounted a cheap 4x scope I had laying around and a light. With 33 grain pellets it chrono's at 870 fps for 55 fps. Perfectly adequate for small to medium pests.

I haven't had any late night raccoons visiting, but I did take it out to my backyard range and was shooting single hole groups at 25 and 50 yards, so I decided to up the game with a better optic.
Last night I mounted and laser sighted a 6-24x50 Vector Optics scope and this morning set up a target at 85 yards.
First shot was off a bit, but a quick adjustment on the windage turret and game on! The next three grouped at just over quarter sized.

I am quite impressed at this kind of group from an unregulated airgun with a 12 inch barrel.
Lovin' it!

Pellet guns have come a long way since I was a kid.

I remember as a kid having BB wars where we basically ran around the woods shooting at each other with BB guns. There was always that one kid with the multi pump cranked to 11 though. Good times, how we survived I have no idea. :) Now I have airguns that will shoot at 50 yards with aplomb and astounding accuracy. They certainly have come a long way.

I DO NOT SUGGEST, CONDONE OR ENCOURAGE RUNNING AROUND WITH BB GUNS OR ANY OTHER SHOOTING AT FOLKS. IT WAS STUPID THEN AND MORESO NOW. But hey it was the early 80s we did a lot of stupid stuff lord some of the things we did on our bikes. :what: To be young, dumb and immortal again. Sigh. :(

I've got the AirForce condor SS in 25cal, these guns are nuts on. It was my squirrel killer out to that range and beyond when I lived in MO. My record was 47 in one summer.

I don't know if anyone here knows about the hutia ,a possum sized animal that are found on the base(and probably elsewhere in Cuba. They were hunted at night to keep them from destroying the trees on base and keeping the numbers down . An airforce talon in .22 caliber proved to be a very efficient weapon for them I personally went on a night hunt with the man on the job,i was very impressed with the guns killing power and accuracy.

I have a Talon SS in .22. There are more than a few feral cats and raccoons gone due to its existence. One shot behind the ear drops them every time. Have had mine since late '90s. There's a red varmint light mounted to it. Might try a laser one day.

I also have a Talon-P and love it. I shoot it like a specialty pistol, and have used it for a few prairie dogs and jackrabbits. Great system for some varminting.

Aint that the truth.
We used slingshots and anything that would fit the pocket. Made them from coat hangers, the leather tongues from old shoes, and about a dozen rubber bands from my newspaper route.
Almost lost an eye when a piece of printer type ricocheted and landed about an eighth inch from the cornea.
It hurt.
Nowadays I have an Air Force Texan.
