I feel like a telemarketer. What have your experiences with Ajax been like? Have you folks had problems with their grips, fit, finish, cracking, flaking of pearl and what is your opinion of Ajaxs' QC? A few of my trusted CAS friends and myself have had some negative experiences.

I have one set of stags- perfectly satisfactory. I attempted to order some buffalo horn grips through a local dealer. They declined to reply

I contacted them once to inquire about some stag grips. They want $275.00 for Sambar grips for a Blackhawk! I asked if I could get some pics of the ones available or get a sales person to open some boxes and describe the amount of bark areas, figure ect. They flatly refused me! They said it was just not practical.

Needless to say I do not own any Ajax grips!

I own and have had great luck with Ajax single action grips. There have been some definite problems with their one-piece grips. Pearl especially. I called to ask a few questions and they made me feel like a telemarketer calling at dinnertime. I had to put on a sweater!:neener:

I have always been told that MOP grips were for display rather for shooters. This is despite the fact that many old west shootists owned firearms stocked in MOP. Due to the nature of this material cracking and flaking is unavoidable at times.
According to the folks at Eagle Grips MOP may be going the way of Sambar stag with supplies drying up and being unobtainable in the near future. Speaking of Eagle Grips I have always found them to be VERY helpful even to the point of making custom panels and doing hand fitting on grips. My first set of stag grips I spent 15 to 20 minutes on the phone with a guy with a thick India accent as he went thru boxes of grips to find the ones that he described as the ones I wanted. They were.
