Agreed. @Ignition Override’s got a very nice patina going on.

Nice AK’s everyone!

Gents, I have a Huge confession to make-----Although I created an attractive distressed look on a Romy, the look was based on some prev. sold by Atlantic Arms.

This thread was created to see what You Folks have, and inspire a a mix of character and features. The guys at the original AKfiles had a very long thread with Ladies with AKs (a feast for the eyes o_O)...but that might have been stopped here. Almost tried that---

Being >> unable to upload photos << to showcase the very attractive wood on my AKMs, I "liberated" that AKM photo from Google.
My apology if that was somehow deceptive.

If people are not offended, please continue the excellent contributions.

Its my misconception as well, Ignition, I was thinking you had found a parts kit of such an extremely early variant and had a classic rebuilt in Semi auto....The Beaver pelt blanket and modern photo was really 'Home' in my mind.

Such a 'classic' in AK stands out :D

I love the looks of this wooden stocked Bulgy in 5.45.
A tool of a deadly art, wickedly beautiful.

This photo was borrowed, because I haven't learned the upload procedures.

I actually used fine sandpaper on a Romy SAR-1 which has a more authentic distressed look than this gun.

That's a Type 1 AK47, museum-worth real-world ex-service gun............

Must be worth its weight in gold if it finds its way into an auction house!

You guys display such Character.
And so —forgiving-about the first photo— that it’s really Touching——

Despite the borrowed photo in my first remark (as OP), you would really like the wood stains on my Maadi and MAK 90 (stamped).

Minwax Red Mahogany really helps.

Folding sandpaper into a very thin hard edge, even created some stripes of Faux Lamination.
These “stripes” in the single later of stain are darker than the basic color .

I had one of Marc Krebs early AK103K Saiga conversions. Sold it off recently to fund something else.

Would have had two of them, but the company he was first doing them for (the first Kalashnikov USA, not the current one) ripped a few of us off. Had a second on order and it never showed up. Krebs started doing his own at that point.

I wish somebody would make a repro of that grip, preferably in wood, but Id buy one in faux-wood poly too.

(Are you listening, PSA/Magpul?):)

Krebs custom is 13 miles from my front door, I was really tempted a few years ago to pick one up- a shop a block or so away from Krebs had a way of getting a rifle here and there from them and the pricing was attractive. Ive heard great things about them but never had hands on one.
