Well, Beto and Joe already know I own the Draco SBR, so I guess that’s that...

He was a machine gunner on vehicles in Afghanistan. This young guy is very blunt in his videos. Gosh- what a relief it is to have a guy - -and a Young Guy these days! -- in a video never need to "walk on eggshells".

Even though his MAK 90 is milled and mine is stamped, it's interesting to seen one (reportedly) after 19,000 rds. Not bad for a guy with whom one of his video titles is "Gun" Lube is Stupid" (10W-30,10W-40 is used).
Training with a friend's VZ-2008 and one's personal MAK 90 with Red Dot sights at "Valor Ridge" might be fun---especially while surrounded by ARs.

Did General Patton say "If everybody's thinking alike, nobody's thinking" ?

CQB 14.5" RS-Regulate PA3X pic stole from the www ;)

JDGray—way cool , my young Glass Hopper ! People see picture, they Assume you mean AKM. Many people No pay attention -- Learn Nothing !

You make my Naked Czechpoint proud.:D

AR people will be offended , doubt Rob Ski for showing us his Czechpoint’s 1.64 MOA hits (200 or 300 yards) in a video (AKOU)..

I have an SAR-1 and it has trouble releasing magazines that hold the bolt open. Does anyone else have that issue? I either lost or gave away all my AK magazines and when I went to order more all of them hold the bolt open. Polymer and Steel. TBH, its been so long since I messed with AK's, I did not even realize that was a thing.

I think youll have that issue with any of those type mags, regardless the gun. The weight of the bolt pressing forward on the follower will always cause drag.

I have some M1 Carbine mags that have that feature and they are harder to remove than the mags that dont. Not really hard, but noticeably different.

I never got the point to the BHO mags, and Im guessing its more of an "American" thing and people thinking you need that. AK's are simple. They stop running you reload. And no matter when you reload, you always work the charging handle, so they are "always" loaded. :)

Since it wasn’t designed for that, you may have issues. Did you swap in a bho safety lever?

Many people, after seeing Rob's very crude tests at the start of the videos, might quit---not realizing at all that he periodically checks headspace, while limiting barrel temps.

Yes, he truly is a very skilled rifleman.
Every AK Ive ever owned was capable of above average to excellent accuracy- even more remarkable considering their short sight radii.

If it werent for the oft-repeated internet mantra that they are inherently inaccurate, I would never have known the truth! Lol.

One thing Ive run into with every AK Ive owned is, a couple of parts benefit greatly, with a little dressing with a jewelers file. Those parts are the mag catch and the selector lever.

If you take a file to the mag release, and just lightly break the sharp edges on it, your mag changes instantly become a lot easier. Same goes for the selector and its use.

The parts are stampings and usually have sharp edges due to it. Those sharp edges tend to grab onto things and once you dress them off, things work much smoother.

Once done, you can normally drop the mag with one finger and with your hand on the grip. At worst, a slight "shake" will drop one thats needs a little help.

You can also work a standard AK selector (not one of the modified ones) with your hand on the grip and with one finger.

Thats been my experience as well.

Probably the two biggest gun falsehoods on the web are, AR's are unreliable, and AK's are inaccurate. :)

Sadly mine is a century vska. So im ashamed to post pictures of it. Although mine has been 100% reliable. Must have gotten a good one. From the reports ive read about them. But it was cheap and I wanted a AK.

AK103: yes, popular falsehoods.
Even very intelligent people - such as a former coworker who retired, then became a B-777 and 747-400 simulator IP (instructor) with the Boeing factory - likes to use the "Barn Door" comparison.

They like to exploit soundbytes including "Barn Door accuracy" talk, when they actually mean "Jihadi thug spraying over a wall", or any select-fire ops. This allows them to avoid any conversation, which might negate advantages of much of the cash invested in....the kind of black rifle which Owns :feet: websites such as TheFiringLine.. in ."Semi-Auto Rifles". "Internet GroupThink" reduces the chance of conflict.

It's excellent that AR reliability has improved so much over the years.

For me an AK/AKM's reliability, ruggedness and true character (when prices are 'normal') are hard to surpass.

My Rommy G was plenty accurate when I got it. I added Tech Sights and the sight radius is now much longer (plus it's an aperture sight), making it even easier to hit what I aim at. I think a lot of those who harsh on AKs as being inaccurate have either never shot one, or they are blaming the equipment for their own shortcomings.

The short sight radius, crude pistol type sight, does not help accuracy that’s for sure. A 7.62x39 iron sighted AR is very easy to shoot well at 100 yards vs an AK for me. Both shooting the same groups with a red dot.

Well the ak was never meant to be a long range rifle. A 100 feet or so at most, which is pretty much a common fighting range in wars; especially urban-warfare. Most of Europe, eastern Europe especially, is urban based. And any real war there is going to based around cities.
