The last set of gun tap and die was from Brownells and didn't say in catalog where they were made. Shezam made in china. All my left hand SAE and Special taps and dies are from china because either I can't find US made or can't afford US made.
CNC made should be cheaper as less labor is envolved but it's not because they very expensive machines have to be paid for.
You tell me is a tool that you might only use once worth $50 + $12 S/H for approx. 3 oz.?
I'm as patriotic as anyone (2 wars, 3 PH's) but I'm now working at a job I love (gunsmithing and machinist) which seldom pay's for the time and tool investment I've made. I pay as I go and often spend more on a tool than the job costs to customer, but then I have if needed. I've even made some special taps but that is very uncost effective. Gents I only posted here to bring attention to a good deal, from a source who tells you up front it's from china. Use source or don't just trying to help.
