I was looking for a source for a fair price for AK tap & die for threading muzzle or flash suppressor. All the common sources were $40-$60 each. I decided to try E-Bay and found a business named Merlintools and the tap was $12+$8 S&H and $8+$6 but shipping is going to be combined and I'll have a set of AK muzzle dies for a fair price. They come from china but have money back warrantee.:)

Made in China is about the best prices you will find. And most of them can be found on that anti gun site you mentioned. Wholesaletools, McMaster Carr and some of the other big parts houses carry brand name USA made parts as well as the imports, but their prices are usually higher than those found on Ebay.

The last set of gun tap and die was from Brownells and didn't say in catalog where they were made. Shezam made in china. All my left hand SAE and Special taps and dies are from china because either I can't find US made or can't afford US made.
CNC made should be cheaper as less labor is envolved but it's not because they very expensive machines have to be paid for.
You tell me is a tool that you might only use once worth $50 + $12 S/H for approx. 3 oz.?
I'm as patriotic as anyone (2 wars, 3 PH's) but I'm now working at a job I love (gunsmithing and machinist) which seldom pay's for the time and tool investment I've made. I pay as I go and often spend more on a tool than the job costs to customer, but then I have if needed. I've even made some special taps but that is very uncost effective. Gents I only posted here to bring attention to a good deal, from a source who tells you up front it's from china. Use source or don't just trying to help.
