My adopted son has just gotten an AK-47...it is a WASP 10...it has the TAPCO trigger group and a tublar side folding stock...we stripped it and cleaned and oiled it...then went to the range expecting to have a fun filled afternoon...we encountered several failure to eject...and failure to feed problems...on most shots the bolt would cycle but it would not eject the spend cartridge nor would it pick up the next round off of the magazine but it would cock the hammer...When you manually pulled the bolt back it would eject and load...so basically it was like shooting a bolt action rifle...the most rounds we had to work was 2 in a row...we stripped it again and everything look to be in working order...I check the gas tube to make sure it was clear of any foreign debris and it was clean and everything appears to be assembled correctly...any suggestions this is our first AK..so I am basically lost.

On these guns, it is not uncommon to have canted gas blocks, so that the piston as it travels backward gets bound up. Look down the barrel (after having removed all ammo from chamber and magazine):D and see if the gas block sits squarely on the barrel. Also, look at the piston. Is it unevenly worn on one side? If so, you need to fix the cant in your gas block. Here is a link to an article on how to do that:
