Lonerider: I would say the trend is definitely slowing down here in KS. Maybe not completely but I mean...look at Gunbroker--they have WASR-10's on there for $550 that haven't been bid on (or did a few days ago).
Guys, that's nothing. In Benton, Tennesssee, there's this gun store that is selling a WASR 10 for $709!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I started laughing really hard when I saw it because it's just so ridiculous. I went there a month ago and it was $500. Still there, wonder why.
AIM surplus has WASR 10's for 499, and AMD-65's for 549. Dunhams around me has $50 off any non sale firearm over $350, so they're selling them for around $450-500.
Prices have been stablizing lately and some predictions to a more normal cost and supply in the next 6 months. There was even ammo on the shelves this past week that has not been there lately. Though the prices are still high.
That's good to hear ARNETT44, now if I find a reasonably priced AK at a local gun show below 500 I'd be tempted to purchase it but I'm wondering if gunshow purchasing is a 'you get what you pay for' type affair.
Good to hear. I'll keep monitoring the situation and should a good AK variant with low mileage in good condition cross my path for a fair price I probably will purchase it.
they were barely $400 before the election. $369.99 online in most places.
Classic arms has the normal WASRs and MV-WASRs for $450 and $480 respectively, before transfer and such. Still comes out to $500+ after taxes and shipping, which is still ridiculous for one in my opinion.
They trade them for chickens in 3rd world country's and here they want what?
RP88 your right just ridiculous.
Maybe they'll get on down in price again I wouldn't mind picking up another one because a year ago I had to sale my SLR95 1 of 800 that I bought in 2001, just needed cash fast. worst thing I ever did was sell that gun. O! 500 bucks is what I gave for it back then. I think 400 is the most that I would give for a stock Ak right now because I think prices will drop they are on AR's
$500 for a WASR is still way to much. Considering I got a polish underfolder last may for $400 , Arsenal SLR106 for $800 and a Krebs KTR-03 for $1200. Yea that WASR is still a huge ripoff.
They've come back down in southern Washington - at least at the Washington Gun Collector Assn. show in Vancouver last week.
There's not usually a lot of rip-off sellers at that show but in the last couple of months ammo and component dealers have showed up and sold out in the morning.
Nice to see that they were going to be taking most of what they brung back to wherever they came from, unsold last Saturday.
The Dunham's in my town has an entire case full of AKs. The last time I was there, two days ago, they had 5 WASRs for $550, 6 AMD-65s for $650, a Tantal for $650, two Yugo M70s for $750, and a Galil for $850. There were a few more in the case that I didn't check prices on, including a single stack WASR, and a WASR or two with those hideous Tapco side folders.
Whoop did de do da! Everybody go out and buy a AK for $500 that is a $275 dollar gun! I would not buy one of these hacks if I had the money to blow. I feel bad enough that I paid $275 for a Sar-1 back in 2001. Paying this price supports what drove it up in the first place. However I would pay $1100 for a arsnal slr series. As these are actually close tos real ak. I look at these prices and laugh at those paying for them. When in 5 years they will be back to $300 new
