All is not lost. Most of the Dems that took House seats from Republicans, are pretty conservative and pro RKBA. THis acutally might be good for the country and gun owners.

Yes.

This has been a repudiation of Republicans, but not conservatism. Democrats who have won have done so largely because they are NOT Pelosi clones.

Things could get interesting. The Republicans do pretty well as a powerful opposition party, and Chafee, for one, was an albatross anyway.

We might even see some more libertarianism emerge. Maybe. We'll see.

The "pro-gun" Democrat who's Ohio governor-elect ran with an HCI board member. Let's just say I'm sceptical.

I'll be rather pleased if the Democrats take the house, and the Republicans retain the Senate. Gridlock is good for everyone but the government. :)

Whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!

:D :D :D

Actually, what sucks even more than the gun grabbing is the fact that after 18 more months (out of 15 YEARS of training) I will finally start to make more than $40K a year...just in time for my tax rate to go to 60% and for the dems to socialize medicine so I can work for da' gubment cheez. Oh, and so I can give more free medical care to illegal aliens who can (and are encouraged to) sue me because they are noncompliant with treatment.

Luckily, it won't matter much after the plutonium goes boom once they castrate our military and pull out of iraq/afganistan.

Sweet.

Any proof of that buster?

Me and the wife presently earn six figures, and then some, with no 60% on the horizon.

Hey buster, did you notice Pelosi on the horizon? BTW, when you add up the taxes you are your wife are paying, did you remember to include social security TAX (14%, BOTH halves)? State income TAX? Property TAX? Disability TAX? Sales TAX? Unless you're living in AK, the last of the money you earn is probably taxed near 50%. Just wait until that Pelosi San Fransisco hardcore Democrat gets her claws on your money...

By the Gods, get a grip...

Was gonna post this on another forum, but that one is having issues and it really fits here as well.

I concur with AyatollahGondola. The only way this fight is lost if if we give in to despair and throw in the towel. Yes, THIS election cycle has not gone the way we would have liked, but this is just ONE battle of many. The "All is lost! Flee! FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES!!" thread was like unto the wails of doom and gloom on DemocraticUnderground the night of the the 2004 elections. And frankly, rather embarrassing coming from my fellows in this fight for the soul of our Republic.

Weep and flail in the dirt if you must, but do not dishonor your forefathers and mine by abandoning the fight simply because we have been delt a setback. Though they are but fiction, the following words come to the front of my mind this eve....
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.

Are you taking into account ALL taxation? Not just those you see raped out of your paycheck every month, but on the goods and services you purchase? I did that for one year, and it was depressing and infuriating both. As it stands, my TOTAL rate of taxation is ~56%

I'm a sharecropper in my own frelling life. :cuss:
