Yet another .32 article, this time from Handloader Magazine:

I just added a .327 SP 101 to the larder, doubling my .32 contingent to two.

I wish I had gotten on the .32 train earlier, the rounds are, literally, “a blast” to shoot .

Thanks for the article, I will check it out. :)

Stay safe.

Makes two of us! So far the Charter Prodessional and the S&W Model 1903. In the late 80’s I had a Taurus Model 74? 4” with adjustable sights .32 Long. I was young and didn’t appreciate it for what it was. Wish I had one today. My next pick up certainly will be a .32 something.

This is a very good argument in favor of .32s as the best snubby caliber:

Why the Best Snub Nose Caliber is .32

Not sure if it’s “the best”. But, it is good, leaves many options and easy to shoot well. I just wish the supply chain was better. As a handloader it’s a delight and economical as well. I just have not seen any .32 H&R on the shelves for a while. .32 Long is out there in a few forms. I picked up a half dozen boxes at pre-pandemic prices. Shot half the other half put away.

Hodgdon’s H110 makes excellent .32 H&R reloads. 11 gr will make nice zippy loads with both the 85 gr and 100 XTP bullets.

I picked up a like new Taurus model 761 32mag earlier this year and put only a couple of cylinders full through it. My buddy shot it as well. We both think it was a fun, accurate gun.

I picked up a 3" S&W model 31-1 a few months ago. I bought it for my wife and thought of reaming it to 32mag. I shot it a little with 32 longs and it is a pussycat! I saw some videos on the Magtech SJHP and decided that would work just fine for her so I opted to leave it alone. 8FB4594F-9822-4E1D-A193-1B1047D6667C.jpeg 4C71E9D2-1A6E-43B7-9775-78492D6AE750.jpeg C2888A0C-11F8-4713-BCE0-DE80429EB1D5.jpeg 1D801AEC-D0AB-483E-93D2-746241246894.jpeg

I have the same 31-1 sold originally in 1968 to my friends grandfather who loaded it and mostly left it in a drawer. I have the receipt and the box. You are very right it’s a soft shot. Excellent little carry piece for a person of small stature.

"I want to find a revolver that shoots .32 ACP!"

I have tested 32acp with six 32 magnum revolvers. Two shot it fine. Two would have some misfires. Two wouldn't make it go bang at all. Must depend on the exact length of the firing pins or something. Two of them were the same make/model, but fell into different categories.

I think this was my most recent 32 revolver purchase:

Years ago I had two .32 H&R Magnum revolvers: a Ruger Single with a 5 1/2" barrel and a Ruger Single Six Bisley with a 6 1/2" barrel. The Bisley was my favorite; it had the right heft and balance to it that made it feel just right in my hand.

At the time my biggest problem with the two guns was finding ammo for them!

Why did you part with them?

I want to find a revolver that shoots .32 ACP!

I've only tested a few cylinders full of .32 ACP in my C.A. Undercoverette, with no light strikes. Extraction was not as perfect, because the rims are smaller in diameter than .32 S&W Long and its offspring. But if I run out of .32 Long and .32 Mag, at least the more common .32 ACP is an option in my revolver.

I've heard some other revolvers don't do as well. It's good to be lucky in that regard, I suppose.
