My PX-22 misfires quite often. Gun was bought in 1990 but not fired the first time until May 2013. Started off O.K. with standard velocity ammo. Then tried to progress to Hi Velocity ammo, then the misfiring started. Very slight firing pin hit on the misfires. They all fire when tried in another gun. Went back to Standard velocity but the misfiring continues. I have had the firing pin out and it appears to be O.K. Also have ejection problems but would like to get the misfiring fixed first. Thanx for any help I can get.

Clean and lightly lube is the first step, I'm guessing you already know that.

The light primer strike could be from the slide not quite closing all the way, so the hammer has to expend some of its energy to send it that last millimeter forward.

If your problem persists you can get a replacement recoil spring, try that, and if it fails, click a coil off of it and try it again.

If you can get a spare magazine, try that one, too. Any try every brand of .22 ammo you can find, the cleaner the better. I like CCI personally.
