This company makes AR-15's, and sells (I believe) complete rifles and components. I've heard both good and bad (mostly bad) about their products and customer service. Anyone with any firsthand experience?

I could go on and on, but I'll save you the trouble. STAY AWAY at all costs!!! I don't care what compels you to do business with them....DON'T! There are waaaay too many quality and reputable vendors in Arizona to do business with than to resort to ASA. Trust me on this.

In the old Arfcom board, ASA was trashed thoroughly by the members. Service was bad and the owner purportedly shouted at complainers.:(

Yep..ASA had a pretty bad rap over at AR15.com. Enough that I would shy away at dealing with them.

I personally wouldn't take the chance when there are a lot of other folks out there that have the same product at a comparable price.

However, if you want to be a gineau pig for us to see if ASA has cleaned up their rep..by all means! :D I would also add that the resale value would be pretty bad unless you did a local sale. There are a lot of folks online that shy away from them.

I have a 16" ASA. I have not had a single problem with it. I bought it back in 1999. Back then from what I understand they were using LMT receivers, and I understand those to be some of the better ones. From what I heard lately, mostly from the web forums (so it must be true) there quality is not what it used to be. I do have a friend that bought a 16" m-4 style from them about a year ago and have not heard him complain about it. FWIW after the ban ended I went with a DPMS 16" M-4 no-ban config for a couple reasons.
1.) DPMS is not getting the bad rap that ASA is lately.
2.) Price - I have $606 in it including shipping. Including a 4 position stock and a chromed bolt carrier.

I am local to Arizona where ASA is. They offer a lifetime warrenty on thier rifles, so it wouldn't be that much of an issue for me if I did have a problem. But, like I said I haven't had any.

Just my $.02

Bought one for my Ex's B-day (yes you can still do that if you like her!)LOL about two weeks ago and finally got to the range today with it. No probs; very tight and shot some decent groups as well. Its Flattop config with 4 pos-stock and a hider/lug. The sales reps were helpful enough and I did speak to the owner on the phone. He quoted me a price that I thought was for a complete rifle (including carry handle/sights) When I got there the salesman said it wasnt the case. I asked him to check with the Boss and he came back and gave it to me with a smile. No BS! SO far I cant complain....and Bushmaster said that they were 90 days out on a similar rifle...also $150 more and no lifetime warrenty!:) Just my experiance!
