Ammo manufacturers that I should avoid?

Are there any shotshell manufacturers that one should avoid unless absolutely necessary? Do some actually damage guns?
I'm thinking about some wolf or pmc for practice, federal for defense and hunting (of course).

Remington is the only one I avoid unless it is the STS line of shells. Everything else I stuff into the gun and shoot.

Avoid the ones that pattern poorly for your particular gun and specific application.

Is there anything in particular that makes Remington shot bad? Or is it just principle that drives you to this course of action? (No offense, in case that sounded mean.)

Bryson, I have found the Remington shotshells filthy to shoot, inconsistent and pattern poorly. Their STS line of shells is great however, but at a price.
