Thanks for that article. I went to a local sporting goods chain this week and just about stroked out on the new ammo prices. The sales rep thought it was the war in Iraq, but didn't sound overly confident of his facts. I hadn't thought of metal prices. One wonders whether this is going to be permanent, as some say oil prices will be, due to international demand for metals. I thought recently I'd been an idiot for stocking up on ammo before Y2K, but man, now I'm glad I did.

I dont know about you guys but im a lot more concerned about gas prices than the cost of ammo. As far as ammo i have my huge stock piles and a lot of lead still ready to cast. Primers i have thousands of them. I can control what i do on shooting. As for Gas i can control what my car uses. I drive a lot in my job. 10 years ago i made good money and gas was not an issue. Today i feel as though if i called in sick once a week it would probably be ok as i almost feel like im paying to go to work.

Was in a Sportsmans Warehouse store yesterday and they sure were low on ammo. Can't see how they are selling many guns when the cost of ammo is so high. They are selling alot of 22s, not many left on the shelf.

If gas keeps going up you better stockpile food. The price of food is going to rise as fast as ammo has. The country is only about nine days from a revolution when food becomes the problem
