Ammo Prices

As long as we continue to pay these 2X - 3X - 4X prices for ammo that is where prices will stay.
Sigh, This is amazing to watch this happen over and over again with people acting like its never happened. Using 9mm as a bench mark since it's easy, just a matter of a few months ago "range ammo" was selling for a buck a round and as fast as it hit was gone. Now? It's dropping to .40 and less a round and there is no more limits, and the stuff is there all the time. Still too high to interest me yet but, only because I can still shoot weekly. Now if I get down to one case left I would still pay the current price before dusting off the reloading gear. Only because I have been working a LOT all this time. Just don't feel like spending the time to save. As long as the stuff is building up as it is, price will keep dropping. Bottom line, don't like the price? Don't buy the stuff. All this the sky is falling stuff is amazing to watch.

A 1,000 - rds. case of 7.62x39 arrived on our front porch last weekend.

Total cost $310. Yes, total price- from another state.

Not much higher than typical 2017 total costs for Russian ammo.

More proof of Continued Shrinkage oft be Panic Bubble.

Agreed! Every few years we go through this & always "it's different this time because politics." Yes, no, it's still a boom-bust business cycle. Everything was dirt cheap and companies were dropping like flies for lack of demand 2018 through early 2020. It takes time to get people back in the game and ramp up production again. It will settle out in another year or two.

My LGS continues to post ammo for sale and the price is steadily dropping in $10-$20 increments. It's down to about $0.30/rd for brass 9mm, the more it sits around the more I suspect it will drop, and it's possible we may get pretty damn close to where we were, which was inconceivable 6 months ago. I have faith, at least for me, even though I have no immediate need to buy, if I did, I could more than live with the current price. The scalpers seem to be SOL and 6 months to a year ago, when my LGS would post a lot of ammo for sale and within the hour would post "sold", now it's sitting on the shelf for days at a time and the price is waaaaaay better. This is good.

The situation may improve when Republicans retake the House and possibly Senate next year. That will reduce the chances of anti gun legislation. But as long as Biden is president, guns and ammo will likely remain high. He has proven he is not afraid to use executive orders to accomplish things that cant be done legislatively.
