Figured reloaders may be able to help. About how much
does an ammo can holding a thousand rounds of .45 ACP
ball weigh?
If I'm near a Walmart, I often pick up a box or
two of WWB ammo I use for training and add it to
an ammo can. I find the cans convenient and
more protective of the ammo.
But, I have not kept a count, especially since
the number of rounds used in a particular training
class varies.
I picked up one of my ammo cans and the box plus
the 230gr .45 ACP ball ammo weighed 40 pounds.
Does anyone have a known count and weight I can
use to estimate the number of rounds in that box?
Thanks.
