Recently, my dad came up with the idea of stockpiling on ammunition, so that we wouldn't have to run to the store every time we go shooting. We are talking to some of our friends who are in the business, and one of them has some ammunition that we could use. Here's the list, in its original form. It's all I can really tell you about what these people have, too.

"2- Winchester .44/40-200 gr- soft point
1- Monark .45 Auto Match- 220 gr- metal case bullet
3- Made in USA- 9m/m- 115 gr
2- Remington .357 - 158 gr - soft point
2- S&W- 9m/m 4gr bullseye- 115 gr - jacketed hollow point- I think these are Don's reloads
14- Master- 9m/m- 147 gr- round nose
6- Hi- Power .22 LR (these are packed 500 bullets a box)
1- Winchester 9m/m (parabellum) 115 gr- silvertip hollow point
2- Winchester .45 Colt - 255 gr- lead inside lubricated
1- Remington .38/40 Win. - 180 gr- soft point
These are boxes of 50 bullets (except the .22 LR)
Carol"

Any more information that you guys can derive from what she told us? I know not all of them are rifle cartridges, but I come around the rifle forum a lot more than the handgun forum, and since you guys seem pretty knowledgeable, I decided to ask you.

Not sure what you are asking. The list you submitted are pistol loads. A couple of them (like the 44-40 and the .45 Colt) have been chambered in lever guns.

It is a combo of match, bullseye, and defense loads. Not much general plinking fodder.

If the price is right, and you have guns in those calibers, buy them.

It is all fine plinking ammo, if it is cheap enough!

The reloads are the only ones I'd shy away from unless you really trust the guy that loaded them.
