An Exciting Story from up North

Lesson #1: Don't antagonize wildlife by following it into the woods when they are obviously trying to avoid you.

Lesson #2: Everything you've heard about bears at the campfire is wrong, such as this well used nugget of poop: "don't get between a mother and her cub and you'll be fine". Well, that's just a load of crap. Wildlife can be unpredictable, o.k.? Don't try to outguess the natural world.

Lesson #3: Surrender the 10mm or 44 mag for bears discussion, please? At 10 feet the bear hesitated (he was looking for the guy's wallet). At that distance almost any modern caliber would have dispatched that critter, 9mm, 40, 45, any of them would have worked. Accept that already, and stop telling me how awesome your 10mm is.
