I have quite a collection of semi abused and recuperating 870s. Most are from the late 50's early 60's-quail and pheasant guns carried alot, shot a little, cleaned infrequently and generally just hunted with. I added another one today.

This gun is a 1955 Wingmaster, 28" barrel, modified choke, plain barrel-bead is missing. It has a patina to the receiver where it naturally balances in the palm while being carried-like Model 94's frequently get. It has a sheath of rust, mostly just bluing discoloration, no pits at all. I figure an hour or so with some 0000 steel wool and CLP and it's gone. Bore is clean, action is sluggish-dirt and varnish (old WD 40 or oil buildup) seem to be slowing things down. The wood is nice, needs a refinish but no cracks. Someone put on an ill fitting and now crumbling recoil pad. This will be replaced from my stash.

Pawn shop hit me for $130 out the door. Why do I keep buying these things?

Ummm...

Because if you didn't, I'd still have to try buying them all?

Thanks for rescuing another Cinderella in need- hope it does well for you.
