During Colorado's current legislative session, the majority Democrats have passed several gun-control bills, civil unions, in-state tuition for illegal immigrant children, and are poised to take on the death penalty and a major tax hike for education. Are they overreaching?

This one is running 90% "overreaching."

In all fairness, as I recall, when everything was run by the Republicans, the overreaching went the other direction just about as much. It seems that divided government is the way to go.

I believe the 90% response was reached because the poll did not give a "Running roughshod over our rights" choice.I just moved to Denver and find it hard to comprehend the slanted reporting and evident stupidity of far too many people who live here. The reason I keep hearing is the west coast has filled up their litter box so much that they can't stand living there any more.So they move to Colorado and try to create the same situation they left.Go figure.

Divided government paralyzed by inter party conflict appears to be the only way, under our system, to get to a "government which governs least governs best" sort of end state. Both parties, unchecked, are rather disreputable groups with unsavory agendas, just very different agendas.
