I picked this up last week for some 60 smackers. I really bought it for the grip(s) but the pistol is so doggone good it has warranted an entire polish & re-blue as time allows.

It says "Target" but that likely merely attaches to the thumb-rest gips and evolved front sight.

Doesn't matter.... It shoots like a competition .22 with Federals!!!!!

Holds dead-on with a 6 o'clock hold at 25 feet.

Clicks on working the action like a vintage Ruger and has that cool owl on the grip to boot.

That strange cut-out in the frame is not a loaded indicator window as on my H&Rs but in fact is used for loading and un-loading. A bit awkward for loading and unloading but each chamber has a small dish-out at the rim for prying the case out with - for instance - the awl of a pocket knife.

And that grip..... Like it was made for me personally. Instinctively points out like my own prime-poker.

Best three *Jacksons* I've spent lately. Likely to cause my previously favored H&R to stay home a time or two.

Please throw up your *cheapo* that you're over-joyed to own & shoot.

I bought this "cheapie" at a club shoot for $25.00. One of the members was given the gun as a present from someone who did not know what they had purchased. He was having all kinds of problems with FTF, Stovepipes and even had the slide jam a couple of times. I looked it over and offered him $25.00 and he took it and left. I guess he wanted to get out of there before I changed my mind. I took it home, cleaned it up and fired about 10 rounds each of five different .22LR rounds. I had one FTF and when I reloaded it and tried again it worked fine. I threw the box with it into the back of the safe about 3-4 years ago. I was cleaning it out the other day and found it again. I'm going to have a .22 day at the range and it will accompany my others. This gun is very unique considering that none of the internals are anything like a true 1911. It even has a fake grip safety. Its actually decently accurate.

Is that a DA that loads like an SA?

Nice score at $60!

I picked this .32-20 1905 M&P for $50 a couple years ago. It needed a couple hours attention with a wire brush and buffing wheel, but the timing and lockup are good and she launches those ridiculously expensive rounds nice and straight.

Do you guys post info like this just to make us newbs feel bad?

I’d drop 500 on that in a heartbeat, if only anyone were willing to sell one for that. But they aint

Have you ever chronoed that load?

Ultra max says 115g at 1050 FPS.

Hot dang!

Nifty. Is the cutout for the firing pin intentional or is that damage from dry-firing?

ETA: NVM that's the "dish" you mention to ease case removal, right?
It's deliberate and on each chamber. Very handy indeed.

The recessed rim cutting, the extraction/pin cuts and the cylinders' front flange all speak to the opposite of cost-cutting on IJ's part. Little touches that I really dig.

The cut-out in the flange on the front of the cylinder is a relief cutting to allow it to pass by the barrel on removal.

I got mine for free as the *owner* assumed it was a non-gun. It had been reassembled poorly and was locked up completely. Even at free, as you note, it's DAMN expensive to feed!

Todd.
I remember when you could shoot 32-20 all day for only $29.95:

Now they’re asking over 150 on eBay

Sure is. I would say it's odd but then too..... It IS an Iver Johnsoon!

Todd.
Odd, you say?

I say, “wise old owl head”

It’s the ultimate carry config:

DA trigger for self-defense,

SA frame, cause who needs cylinder cranes when you strap a second revolver as your speedloader/b.u.g.

They made a carry model in .38 Special (but without the cool cylinder)

Never chronoed it, but it feels about the same as a hot .38spl.

That happens to be a particularly flattering picture. Up close, it still shows quite a bit of deep pitting- shoots fine, though. Heck, I could probably sell the (unusually clean) grips for what Ive got in the gun, lol.

It's the distinctively SA loading that's *odd* to me in a DA revolver. Might happen elsewhere but it's still odd to me.

Todd.

Does that design actually work?

Could you shoot thumbs-forward with reckless abandon?

(please don’t try that out, btw)
Of course, regardless the salesmanship it still has that portion cut out for getting past the barrel. I guess that little bit didn't matter to them for the 2 out of 8 rounds fired.:D
