I have been saving for over 6 months and have $300 to spend, well I was gonna save and have more and not have a question to post but my local shop guy called me so I now have to do one or the other. He said that his distributors on ammo were saying slow shipments to no shipments in a few weeks and he said the guns were going up in price as well but didn't say how much. I have one G3c, 10 magazines with it and around 5000 rounds of ammo with about 60% fmj and 40% jhp. I also have a Bond arms and up to 7 yds, it will group as good as my G3c but don't class it as a regular carry gun but just as a yard work gun. I don't shoot much now as I have several hundred through the G3c and fire about 20 rds a month now. I also have a 12 gauge home defense gun with 200 boxes shotshells and 120 5rd boxes of slugs. My 22lr I believe is ok at about 28,000 rds for it. So what would you do? buy another 9mm handgun or buy more 9mm ammo or even some 12 gauge ammo? Thanks for any help

My two cents? I would go for ammo.

With Vista Outdoor being bought out by a Czech billionaire recently, prices and availability will be in flux for a time.
Vista owned brands such as Remington, Federal, CCI, etc. Now that its owned by a foreign national, who knows the future of those ammunition brands as we know them now.

Cover more of your bases. I assume you already have a .22 rifle? A .22 pistol goes a long way.

You have a G3c, add a full size 9mm like the Taurus 92.

What need are you trying to fill ? Concealed carry, nightstand gun, truck gun? I don't see the purpose of having two G3c pistols with a bunch of 10 round magazines. If you just want another one because you want another one then that's fine. You can also get a larger capacity magazine for it:

I would save the money and shoot more.

I would probably go with Option #2-buy more 9mm. ammo. If ammo becomes scarce and really expensive no sense in getting another 9mm. handgun as you won't have any ammo for it anyways. Sounds like you've got plenty of shotshells and .22 ammo so you're pretty well set there. You could always buy a .22 revolver (like a Ruger Wrangler), or a .22 rifle (Ruger 10/22 or a Savage 64) for under $300.

You have plenty of ammo and guns are cheap. That Taurus isn't know for duration. Buy a used 9mm Glock.

That's the ticket. I'll sell him my unloved, lonely G23 cheap and buy me a new Taurus with it....... Or maybe another SAR9 since I just ordered a TX22.........
Hey, it works for me!
