Local Barrelmaker/Blackpowder gunsmith gave me some of these to test&play with, good design! In .36 caliber, two weights, 80 and 130 grains, AND comes in a hollowpoint version that opens-up like a morning glory, really turns itself inside out,:what: can't wait to pot a water rat or bunny with one!

Tried them out of the SUPERTUNED Colt navies and the Remmie .36 Navy, loads easy, base section drops right into the chambers so loading window clearence is NO problem, even the plain version hits hard and shoots better than the Buffalo Ball-Et. LOADS infinately better than the Buffalo offering.

Got some coming in .44/.45 caliber, 180 and 220 grain, hollowpointed version of this one looks like the intake to a jet engine! Did someone say; 'self defense with a cap&ball pistol'?

Images? Of course!

That top ring is .382 in diameter, shaves off when ya seat 'em and gives pleanty of GRIP on tha chamber walls, biggest loads i could get under these had NO slippage.

catch that nose profile. It looks like somebody put a lot of thought into this one.

Yes, that is 'our' barrelmaker blackpowdersmith. Made the swaging dies in his shop for these.

Manyirons, That's a good looking bullet! Is he going to be selling these any time soon? Let me know if he does. Thanks , Mike

Not any longer, was a test marketing effort, he'll be selling the bullets AND the swaging die for 7/8x14 (Standard) presses in .36 and .44/.45 Caliber.

Got some spread-around and a basic idea of 'what the market is'. THINK they'll be going for 7.50 to tha hundred and the die for makin yer own i have no idea yet, probably around 49.00.

Just picking up these cardboard boxes here, they weigh a ton.. I guess I got lucky to find them. The boxes, 1 80gr and 1 130 are 4x5x3. I think I have a life time supply, not sure..

The 80 for general shooting, the 130 simply too much powder room inhabits for no particular reason. I DO like the heavier HOLLOW-Point as the lighter one expands too much to penetrate well.

bullets

Nice bullets to play with. Too bad there isn't one of those "roll" things to put lube rings made for them. Lube rings on the shank part would be cool. A modified sizing die to lube them would be cool too. I was wondering what a "supertuned" Colt was? I was wondering what kind of accuracy the bullets get with the standard 1-32 rifling twist of most percussion revolvers.

I'm interested in .457 hollowpoints. I'd like to buy a box from him to test first, before springing for a swaging die. Is he going to set up a website to sell 'em? If not, how to we go about the purchase. Info when he's ready, please! :D

Rifle; 'lube rings' utterly superfluous, with lubricated vegetable fiber wad these do 1,200 from my guns with top loads, no leading, shoot fine, 'gilding the lily' or fixin what aint broke dont do it!

He'll have a site here in about a month for these and other common products, one-man show ya know and more business in custom work and barrels, guy does 16x7 as it is! (I'm tryin' ta help!)

Hey! tryin ta do SOMETHIN ta pay my custom work bills! Buying all these guns and customizing is a burden!

I'm impressed and am eager to hear about the results in the field.

Nice looking bullets. I would be interested in some for my 44's and 38's.
Tell us how the marketting is coming on. I am sure that you could find quite a lot of peeps on here who would be more than willing to test these in a variety of guns for ya.

NAME THE BULLET!!

Test phase is over, a few improvements forthcoming, such as the top band, width will be doubled. Secondly, the hollowpoint version will be a little flatter across the tip, beyond that, no changes needed for ease of loading or accuracy.

Now we need to NAME THE BULLET, i'll dream up some appropriate little prize for this if successful entry comes from here, utterly arbitrary in picking, criteria is; 'do i like it'.

Bullet names??

'Widow-Makers'?

I know if got a few boxes of those, my wife would feel like a shootin' widow:)
