Another one waiting for me up there

My condolences about your old friend.

But I'm happy for the next little (or big) dog which will have a nice home.

My ex daughter-in-law is a supervisor at the Memphis Animal Shelter, and the flood of animals which need even (just) foster homes is so constant.
My son has helped her take care of two or three foster dogs awaiting new owners.

You may want to give yourself time before you look for a replacement. You will not replace that dog. I went through the same thing a few months ago and realized it was like being on the rebound from a relationship. I immediately started looking to get another dog but after months realized I will never replace that dog and I was trying to fill that hole in my heart. Maybe that's why I never found a suitable replacement. It's only been a couple weeks since I quit looking for a new dog.
You are a different person so maybe different needs and maybe I am way off base. I understand your pain completely and my deepest condolences. The dog I still have I don't believe wants a replacement dog brought in at this time. It's been a few months and I still miss that dog every day and I know my living dog also misses him.

Bronco - sorry for your loss as it never is "easy". Seventeen years is a good long time. Do you have a picture of your buddy?

I lost my last two just three years apart - 2/07 and 2/10. The first was a GSH that was 14-7 (kidney failure) and the other was a mutt that looked like a miniature Golden at 15-7. Her mother was a Springer that got "caught" by a local shorthair stray. We tried to keep her from getting pregnant but one slipped through. I wasn't going to keep her but at 8 weeks, she was already retrieving.

tark: That could happen.

Synthetic digital "space' is so hard for websites to contain. Maybe there is a weight and balance issue preventing "takeoff" unless ramp guys first shift lots of (digital) bags in the lower cargo compartments.....calculated by Dispatch.

But one of the dogs depicted was a retriever = gun.
