I personally like all of the Warsaw Pac pistols that have made it to our shores and possess a Russian Mak, EG Mak, Bulgarian Mak (2), PA63, P64 (2), P83, CZ70, CZ 82 (3), and a non police/military SMP 380. The pistols are well made, some Wallther clones, some with Walther influence, some unique such as the Polish P83 and it's folded and welded metal. There are sufficient numbers of the pistols on these shores that ammo will not be a problem however, I have a personal need to keep a thousand or two of each caliber owned on the shelf (with .223 ans .22 rimfire 10 to 20,000). If you plan now you can smile through the "shortages". I am smiling :)
Do you like the Hungarian PA 63 feg? I do like the polygonal barrel, and the feel of the Mak family, and have sometimes thought a PA 63 would make a good, inexpensive carry piece.

The PA 63 is a neat pistol that is almost a clone of the PP, but in 9x18 caliber. Because of the caliber, blowback action and aluminum frame the pistol is not easy on recoil but still manageable. I put a set of checkered walnut from Grips4U and slipped it into a left over PP holster. My pistol was virtually unused when received as a gift and after a few hundred rounds it is still beautiful. All the other pistols I listed are easier to shoot with the painful exception of the P 64.

Currently have 2 CZ 82's a good number of other 9x18 handguns. One that has surprised me is the little FEG SMC 918 and FEG model R61. Even with the aluminum frame they have less recoil than either the PA-63 or the P64.
