I know lots of users on here have considerable firearm collections. I have 2 pistols, 4 long guns and I'm building an AR much quicker than my initial estimate. Now that I started, I want to finish it and go to the range
Anyway, I'm looking to buy a fire rated gun safe to store my guns, and other valuables in the house, which means I need a safe larger than the skinny 18" models.
Dick's Sporting Goods has a Stack-On Elite 24 gun safe http://www.stack-on.com/categories/elite-safes/products/30 on sale for $550 + $50 mail in rebate = $500 final cost. This would meet my needs and still have enough room to fit my compound bow! Does anyone have any experience with / opinions on this safe?
We have an alarm system with motion detectors that's always on if we leave the house. We have motion detectors that cover the stairways in the home and we live in the 'burbs.
Are suggestions on a better safe in this price range?
