I had owned a model D some years back, but was a 32 ACP and just not exceptional at anything. Recently saw a model G, likely late 50s vintage, at the LGS and wondered if it might be worth the $225 asking price. Has anyone spent some time with one? Things to look out for?

I have no first hand knowledge of these. All I can tell you is that they were made for MAB by Echasa of Spain, and are more commonly seen in 32 caliber. Those turn up on Gun Broker pretty often, and magazines show up on Ebay. I'm afraid I can be of any help about value.

Thank you. Value really isn't the issue--it's what it's worth to me, not to others. My research indicates early production in Bayonne, France and later in Spain. I will take out for a function test later this week, but wanted to know if there were known issues. I am sure magazines will be a challenge, but I don't feel the need for more than 1 or 2 backups. It seems to be a solid little repeater with a few quirks that are a good fit with my meager collection of 22 LR semi-autos.

You know, it does say 22 long so maybe I shouldn't use long rifle in it. They make it in 32 auto also, however, so I will have to do more research. Thank you for pointing that out.
