I haven't been there for years but remember the Port Townsend range as decent and have friends that go there for club shoots and like it. Also it's the only organized range for centerfire rifle/pistol in the area north of Poulsbo. The ranges in the Port Angeles area are shotgun ranges and an old indoor 22 range. Also a nice blackpowder range. A local shooting club holds two gunshows a year by Sequim ( Oct. 3/4 ) as a fundraiser for a centerfire range. They have had one obstacle after another and have been working to obtain a site since the 1970's. Now have a site on DNR land but bitter fights with environmentalists over lead etc. The Port Townsend range will be about 15 to 20 minutes from your timeshare. Area is one big speedtrap, watch the signs.

There's another indoor range that's relatively new. Check out Norpoint Range (http://norpointrange.com/ ) That's north of Lake Stevens and slightly south of Arlington. It's easy to get to off of I-5 or Hwy 9. Directions on their web site. Good guys running it with a growing gun shop inside. Being indoor though, distance is limited. They do allow .223 there, so it's good for testing rifles but not at challenging distances. I do the pistol thing there often because they have evening hours which is great for after work and on weekends.

Everything TCOV said is accurate in my book also. Be careful if you go to Wade's... TCOV will likely agree that there are occasional shooters there that don't have a clue about what they're doing. I've personally seen some very dangerous stuff happening there with regards to firearm handling. Just be aware of the shooters around you.

Thanks for the info. I was reading about the Plantation Range, so I'll probably go check that out hopefully this weekend.

In high school we would always go up to Reiter Pit way up above the offroaders and shoot our shot guns and mosins into various targets. Its not exactly a range nor easy to find but its a good quiet place to go.

BTW Washington rocks, Im from Everett.Seattle.Redmond area and I cant wait to visit again
