Any help for XD triggers?

Went to by an XD .45 compact last weekend, changed my mind after dry firing one a half dozen times. I thought the trigger was terrible! Too much travel before engaging whatever is engaged before the striker is released.

Is there any way to improve on the stock trigger? I'd still like to buy the gun if there is a way to improve the trigger.

It will get better with use.

I have this guys kit:

It has totally transformed the gun; very little 'take up', no overtravel, and a short reset. I also put in 5# springs. It's all 'drop in', so there are no mods to the gun.

I think Bruce Gray is doing a competition trigger for XDs. Not for carry though.

I like the trigger on ours, and we bought it new.
