Any interest in a compiled Taurus Judge Thread?

Granted it would be a lot of work for the moderators, but the Judges are flying off the shelves. Anti-carjacking guns, home defense guns, etc.

I thought there might be some interest in a compilation of threads on them.

Anyway, on to my problem.

Didn't think I would buy one but I did. Got it used, and it is on its way back to Taurus for repair. Very odd problem - the gun has problems in either single or double action pull rotating the cylinder after the initial load when loaded with .410. Subsequent rounds work fine. I do notice the .410 shells seem very loose in the cylinder. No problem whatsoever with .45. Wondering if the PO tried firing .454 Casull in it and damaged the cylinders.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

I doubt the cylinder would have survived firing .454 Casulls.

I never had any interest in The Judge, until I looked at one in the store.
I decided it was pretty neat and I dould do a lot worse than to buy one.
It's a lot of fun to shoot. It does well with .410 ringed loads.

Update. Got mine back from Taurus, and they found the timing to be off. Once adjusted, it is a very nice shooting gun.

I'm having the best groups with Sellior and Bellot 000 buck shot. The Winchester PDX1 sounds like a cool round on paper, but just doesn't provide the tight pattern and consistency I feel is necessary in a self defense round.

I won't take the time to put all of the threads into one, you could collect the threads and put the links into one thread. We have "club" threads but we will not maintain them nor keep them up.

I'm getting my Public Defender back from a factory repair order. I was having firing problems with the cylinder jamming up and not being able to turn, as well as opening the cylinder after firing a few rounds. I was advised that a bushing was "missing" and the firearm was not properly aligned. I purchased the firearm brand new, never took it apart, or seen parts fall out of it. Wonder if this was a manufacturer defect, hope it works fine once I get it back.

Judge, a few hundred rounds later

Well, another update.

The latest is the ejector will sometimes slip over the lip of a spent round, making removal of that round difficult.

Off to the factory again.

Two trips to the factory in a year makes me question the reliability of this thing as a home defense gun.

A friend of mine bought a Judge. The timing was so poor one of the cylinders would not fire, and the cylinder would not rotate past that cylinder.

He returned it for a brand new one.

While his wife was loading it, the cylinder fell off of the gun......

Now he has a S&W Govenor. Take it how you will.

Here goes another round of Judge/Taurus bashing, while noting that the topic is for those truly interested in the gun, without having to sneak off to the Taurus site forum. I think they call it sniping.

RealGun, not bashing. I've been shooting the heck out of this gun to evaluate its worthiness as a bedside companion. Just the facts, but it just doesn't have my confidence yet.

I used to bash. I really don't anymore. I just share the experience and info. It's a very limited sample size, so like I said, take it as you will.

I like mine, but come to think of it, I haven't shot it a lot. I just shot it enough to get acquainted, and then loaded it up with #4 buckshot, ready to go. Two other guns handle the 45 Colt much better, so the caliber alternative is incidental to me.

I have a 410 coach gun which shares 2 1/2" ammo and pairs with the shorter cylinder Judge, the 3" stainless. There is an ammo belt full of 2 1/2", #4, .410 ready to grab and go. But that's all hypothetical, right?
