SKEET

With all the people getting together and shooting trap in Maryland, would anyone be interested in a skeet shooting day in Indiana. My club is in Warsaw IN west of Fort Wayne about 50 miles. Kosko Conservation Gun Club. Any interest let me know. The next couple of weekends are busy for me though, but if anyone would like to try we have 4 skeet fields, 2 overlay trap ranges and a five stand sporting clay setup.

Steve, if you can get some guys on board keep me posted. With my job I can't commit to anything but I might just show up if something is going on. LOVE to shoot skeet, and just flat am not getting out and doing it these days, I sure could use a day where I shoot a case or better on the skeet field.

Hey that is only about 4 " from here according to My road Atlas :) ...about 600 mi as the crow flies. I'm even legal in Indiana to CCW. It would have be this summer for me tho'.

HSMITH this might be a thought for us to hook up as well. Keep me posted...like I said I gotta feeling serious road trip will be in order this summer.

You folks In Indiana have BBQ and Catfish btw ? ...oh oh how about fried apple pies...don't expect me to shoot on an empty stomach folks.

It would be great to meet you guys in person. I never know from week to week if I'll have to work the weekend or not, usually not, but it depends on whether the factorys that I work in have projects going on. I'm a plumber by trade, so when things go bad we get called in.

HSMITH, its been years since I shot more than 7 or 8 boxes of shells in a row, but I'd give it a try. There is a pretty nice sporting clay coarse about 25 miles on north-west of Warsaw, don't get to shoot it about more than twice a year. That would be a good excuse. Maybe we could hook up some day.:)

Steve and Steve, sounds good!

Kinda surprised there hasn't been more interest.......

Depending upon the timing, there's a chance I'd be able to make it. Summer is filling up, as I may be making a trip to Camp Perry, and will be shooting as many HP matches as I can. However, since I'm primarily a shotgunner, I almost never turn down a chance to shoot.

I'm in Fort Wayne. Let me know as you narrow in on a weekend. I work some Saturday AMs. I'm not the best wing shot but it could be good for a few laughes and a good time.

I live...

between Walketon and Plymouth. Range you mentioned would probably be fine. There's a real nice sporting clays range about 20 minutes West of Warsaw. Also, there's a metallic silhouette range about 20 minutes west of Plymouth. Happens the first Sunday every month during summer.

If I could see about camping on our family farm (less than a mile from the sporting clays range). 3 acres of mowed grass, a pond, and plenty of place to shoot.

If you get closer to a date, please post in the "General" forum as there may be rifle or pistol shooters that would like to be involved.

Capt. Bligh, and redneck2, I generaly get out to shoot about every other weekend a least a couple or 3 rounds of skeet. If interested in just seeing the place let me know.

Capt. Bligh there is a nice club north of Ft. Wayne at St.Jo. They had the state skeet championships there this year. Its only about 15 minutes north of you.

kudu, I've never shot at St. Joe. If I shoot outside, I generally go to the range at Tri-County and take by own clay thrower. I'll have to check out St. Joe sometime. It is a club and/or open to the public? Fees/hours?

During this weather I pretty much stay huddled inside at the range at Targetmaster here in FW.

Capt. Bligh, St. Joe Gun club is open to the public. I have'nt been there in almost a year. They always advertise in the Journal Gaz. Sunday paper in the outdoor section in places to shoot and events. The phone # is there and I think they are open 4 days a week. There is also a small club by Bluffton on the north side.

Do you go to the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife area by N. Webster. I'm only about 7 miles from there.

I shot Sunday at Kosko and got pretty cold, the wind was right out of the north. Could barely feel my fingers, at least that's my excuse for not shooting very well. :D
