Any of you Sebenza owners ever handle a Spyderco Sage 2 Titanium?

No lanyard hole like on my Sebenzas. I know for some it doesn't matter but for me it's a deal breaker and I shouldn't have to drill my own.

Other than that it seems a straight forward; black belt - zombie fighting - mall ninjas need not apply kinda knife.

I had a Sage 2 for a while and the fit and finish on mine was excellent. I like the deep carry pocket clip. I ended up selling it as the choil was uncomfortable for me and there are other steels I prefer to s30v. Those are just personal preference issues and I would have no problem recommending one.

So far, I've avoided the Sage as it looks awful close to the Caly, which I love. Why would I need another similar Spyderco?

But after reading a bit, this thread pushed me over the line. I should have one by Friday.

Why the Ti Sage frame lock instead of any number of Spyderco's other S30V knives? Is it the all Ti body instead of G10 and Ti or the Ti and frame lock combination? Spyderco makes other knives that uses other locks that are equal to the frame lock for strength so if you can let us know what the appeal of this knife is we'd be more able comment meaningfully.

I'm guessing it's the metal knife/frame lock combination. Others have made the comparison.

The Sebbies I've handled seem nice enough, but I usually like the feel of an $85 Spyderco better. The Manix 2 is a particular bargain, and a wonderful carry knife if it fits your lifestyle. The Translucent Manix 2 is one of the best all-around folders I've seen, and if you live in an area that allows a 3.3" blade- and can work the caged ball-bearing lock without issue- could only be improved with different steel. (BD-1 is extremely stain-resistant, strong, and resharpens to a nicely toothy edge very quickly, but doesn't hold the edge as long as VG-10 or 154CM.)

I was curious about other opinions, after I read Marko's take on it at http://munchkinwrangler.wordpress.com/2012/05/10/a-good-knife/ . I was contemplating buying one as a gift for a friend.

The Chaparral is also a terrific option, very slim and strong, bigger than the Dragonfly, but slightly shorter than the Sage. A gentleman's knife with one-hand opening and clip. I believe the back lock on the Chaparral will be slightly easier to use than the Sage 2's frame lock, and I believe the back lock's position is inherently safer.
