Shoot one?
Oh yeah... I've shot one.
Here's a pic of mine. (That's a Mueller 8.5-25X44 AO tactical scope on top of it)
It's not a really expensive rifle, and there are places where that's easy to see.
The safety lever, for instance, is a bent piece of sheet metal.
The magazine mounting stuff is a little cheesy, too.
But for the money, it's got some nice points.
The stock is beautiful. It's nicely shaped and heavy. It allows the rifle to sit square and steady on the sand bags.
The bolt is simple but it works nicely and the stainless action and barrel have a good finish.
The trigger is the best one I own. It's very light (I cut the spring) and very crisp, and the accutrigger is safe, too.
I generally get 3/4"-1" groups at 100 yards with the CCI TNT hollow points
This is a REALLY fun rifle. Not only does it give
real sub MOA groups every time I shoot it, but it blows things up, too. If you pop a Crow with this thing at 100 yards, there's going to be feathers everywhere. I'm talking dramatic! (Google up video by searching for "17HMR squirrel")
It costs a little more than a .22 to shoot, but it gets pulled out of the safe as much or more than my .22s do just because it's so fun to shoot.
I like to put golf balls on the ground at the 200 yard range and shoot at them.
I can hit about five or six shots out of ten, and it's a real hoot to watch the golf ball go flying through the scope.
I give the rifle two thumbs up! I have had no problems or complaints after several thousand rounds.
I'm sure that you will enjoy it if you get one.
