I started hunting rabbits with a bow in the 50's. They would not let me hunt with a gun by myself, but a bow was allowed. I did not get a rabbit until my second year. Then I was hooked. Back then I had a couple of long bows. I know one was an old 30# Ben Pearson don't remember what the other one was.
I started bow hunting deer when I was in Texas in the early 70's. Use to practice hunting jackrabbits. Got my first recurve then, was a 45# Bear Grizzly fast limb. Hunted a lot of stuff with that old bow.
Kind of slowed down hunting about ten years ago. Lost access to most of the land I use to hunt when I moved back to Indiana. What I did have around here either the farmer died, retired, or sold off his land. Now just hunt once in a while.
Never owned a compound, shot a couple. Have been thinking of getting one to just shoot in the back yard once in a while just for the fun of it. I may get permission to hunt a small patch of land here next year. So may take up rabbit hunting with a bow again.
I do kind of keep up with the changes in bowhunting. Have to say it is a lot different now then when I use to hunt.
