One of my dream to have guns I finally got thanks to refinancing a while ago.

This Winchester 1886 45-70 repro made in Japan is of outstanding craftmanship. My only complaint is the tang safety as I feel a flip aperature there would be better!I need its carbine little brother to keep it company lol!

Any other Levergun nuts out there?

Lordy, yes! I am for sure! I intend to buy a couple as soon as my ship, the Titanic, comes in...
:uhoh:

:D

Most wanted: 1876 Winchester repro by Chaparral in .45-60 or .45-75
Modern 1895 Winchester in .405 WCF

Well since this thread is still alive, did anyone notice my post last week? I finally got that Uberti '66 Short Rifle in .45LC. I never thought an out of the box lever could be so smooth. I've put 100 rds. thru it at the indoor range, now I need to get outside and have some fun.

Not really a nut

But do have a Puma/Rossi(Possi?) M92 stainless carbine in .45 Colt that is the funnest long gun I have. Something about it always brings out the biggest grin on whoever is shooting it.

Bluevan and others,

can you please educate me about the similarities and differences between .30-30 & .44 Mag if fired from levers with identical barrel lengths?

I'm mostly curious about trajectories at 50-200 yd, energy at 100 yds.

Usually, I can find this sort of thing on Remington's ballistics page, but they don't list pistol calibers there. There's .444 and .45-70, but no .44 Mag.

Citing a link to a page on those would be fine. I confess, I haven't searched THR archives. (Multiple keyword searches - .30-30 AND .44 Mag - are tough on this software.)

And yes, that's a very sweet looking pair of firearms.

Lever action nut me? No. So far I have avoided
such madness. I only have:
.22 Marlin 39M Mountie
.357 Rossi 1892 Puma
.30-30 Winchester M94AE
.30-30 Marlin 336W (with Williams 5D peep sight and 4x32 'scope)
Moderation in all things, children, is the path to serenity.

Just picked up today. My first levergun, and I think I picked up another addiction next to the dreaded Black Rifle Disease, and Milsurpitus.

Spare parts

What kind of nuts do you need for you lever gun? I have a fair selection, and some loose screws, too. Kidding, of course. I have a model 1892 Winchester (made in Japan) in .45 long Colt. Pretty blah, compared to the ones pictured above, but I like it.

Resurrection

Hi lionking,
If you are going to resurrect a 2 year old thread you could not do it with a more beautiful rifle. She is georgous. And in a unique caliber too. Have a great time at the range, look forward to a full report.
