I was wanting to get a cowboy style single action .357 to go with my Marlin 1894C. I was looking at Ruger's new Vaquero and am kind of put off because it doesn't have wood grips to include price tag. Then, there is Beretta Stampede. Price is also an issue to include their finishes. I really don't like their deep allmost anodized looking bluing. That leaves me with my third choice, the Uberti cattleman. It really seems to fit the bill as far as overall appearance. It really has the look to include finish that I'm looking for. Price is really what appeases me. I found them NIB online for under 300.00. Yeah, I know that saying "you get what you pay for" but, there are a few exceptions when it comes to guns. Take the Makarov for instance. Who would thought that a 150.00 gun would out preform guns three times it's price in accuracy and reliability with readily available cheap surplus JHP ammo. Is the Uberti one of these exceptions? I have yet to read anything bad about their blackpowder pistols so, does the same quality of fit and finish apply to their Cattleman line? April is one of those favorive months of mine when I get three pay checks through out the month so, I have some spending money if you know what I mean. . Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Flip.
